Are we living or are we surviving?

Many times we ask ourselves if we choose the life we want or life takes us along different paths that sometimes lead us to precipices where we tend to fall and where it is hard for us to recover.
And the passage of time and the passage of time have taught me that in reality when you analyze these issues in depth, you come to the conclusion that each one really chooses the path he wants to travel. And maybe we are not consciously choosing it, because for some reason or we make decisions or we do not take them and then they become omissions and those decisions or omissions are shaping the path and path through which we travel throughout life.
But ultimately, all things that happen to us have a causal relationship at heart. That is, nothing happens just because. And here it does not matter to attribute the gift to a superior force, each one will see, each one will interpret life in a different way and each one will also attribute to different circumstances the facts that we have to live.
And I tell you the facts that we have to live, because there are some circumstances, that is true, that we can not foresee and that stand in the way of our life and that make us capsize many times, make us doubt or confront us to challenges that we find very difficult to overcome.
But there is a question that goes to a deeper level than we are considering and is that in front of that cup of coffee one wonders if it is living or if it is surviving and what is the concept that every human being has, that you have, in particular, of what life is.
This has to do with the content of this writing of mine, where I learned to reassess the meaning and magnitude of that small huge gift that means to live. And the question is: are we taking advantage of that opportunity that our own life history is giving us or are we simply living biologically letting life pass us by, without making decisions, without getting too involved, without moving towards that goal that we all long for? , which is welfare. What do we do in pursuit of that welfare? We work yes, we all work and maybe we work more. Maybe we work more hours than we should work. Immediately the answer arises: but the obligations, responsibilities, accounts payable ... All this is true, all that is the material aspect of our way and our way of being in this world.
But ... we are missing the deepest things, the healthiest things, the most beautiful things that life can have, which is among other things, the contact with nature, the dialogue with the other members of the universe that also form a natural part of our way of being in the world.
How to achieve that balance between the material need that human beings have and that enormous need for spiritual communication that we have as the world becomes more complicated, as the world becomes globalized, as the world becomes more and more insensitive to the needs of its inhabitants? How to reconcile both?
How to achieve in this world and in this era of virtual communication, technological advances, to recover the communication of the gaze, to recover verbal communication and body language?
We stand behind the cell phone to send messages or send emails, but it is increasingly difficult for us to come face to face to tell us what we feel and what we think.
So I return to the question: are we living or are we surviving? And each one must choose an answer and that answer must be frank, it must be honest, it must reflect the truth of each one.
Each human being has a personal, personal vision of what it can be to live. And I share this thought, because we have an obligation to accept what the other thinks even though we are not sharing it. But ... we all have the right to our truth, we all have the right to coin our thinking.
To live, in the widest sense of the word, is to extract from ourselves the best, to go little by little, traveling along paths that allow us to get closer to what our dreams are and to what our illusions were, with firm steps and with effort .
